Our NATA-accredited laboratory is located at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research Berghofer (QIMR Berghofer) in Brisbane, where we collaborate with a diverse range of clinicians and researchers to support the health and well-being of our communities.

echiDNA offers advanced reproductive genetic testing, including non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT): Aurora™ and Aurora™ Expanded; Reproductive genetic carrier screening (RCS): Affinity™ 170+; plus microbiome testing: AbsoluteBiome™.

echiDNA operates a NATA accredited ISO 15189 compliant laboratory; we are located at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Brisbane (QIMR Berghofer).

Testing is performed in our NATA accredited laboratory at QIMR Berghofer in Brisbane. All testing is performed, supervised and managed by local, experienced scientists, overseen by an Australian trained, qualified and registered Genetic Pathologist (FRCPA).

No personal identifying information (such as name, date of birth or contact details) or any personal genetic information (such as DNA sequence) is transmitted outside of Australia.

We are committed to upholding the highest standards of data security and patient confidentiality. All data that we handle is done in compliance with Australian privacy laws and ethical standards, with strict safeguards in place to protect patient information at every step.

Samples are securely handled at our QIMR Berghofer laboratory in Brisbane in accordance with NPAAC retention policies.

Data is stored on secure, on-premises servers, with some components hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Australia.

We comply with all applicable Australian Privacy Laws and Regulations (which include the Privacy Act 1988 Cth and the Australian Privacy Principles), relevant healthcare standards and our obligations under TGA registration and NATA (ISO 15189) accreditation.

No third party has access to our samples, data or reports.

Our instruments, laboratory and other information technology equipment, other than the data servers hosted by AWS, are in our NATA accredited laboratory at QIMR Berghofer in Brisbane. The site is protected by electronic surveillance and other physical access controls, which includes a 24x7 security guard presence provided by a third-party contracted by QIMR Berghofer.

Physical access to our laboratory is further restricted to authorised employees of echiDNA by electronic card registered with QIMR Berghofer security. Any third-party or visitor access requires prior approval and is always escorted by authorised personnel.

Local access to our instruments, laboratory and information technology systems is managed in accordance with our IT Security Policy.

Yes. As an Australian company, echiDNA operates under the laws of Australia and complies with all relevant laws and regulations applicable to our business, including those related to privacy. Our clinical operations meet all relevant standards and are certified as such, including through NATA accreditation, TGA registration and ISO 15189 requirements.
