Meet the Team

We are a dedicated team of experienced professionals united by one purpose: improving lives through early, equitable access to advanced diagnostics.

Rooted in science and driven by compassion, we bring deep expertise across genetics, laboratory operations, clinical governance and customer care. Together, we deliver timely, trusted genetic insights so patients, families and clinicians can make better-informed healthcare decisions.

  • Ming founded echiDNA Pathology Labs on a clear conviction: world-class genetic diagnostics should be accessible, timely and delivered in a way that genuinely meets the needs of the communities they serve. After a global career scaling complex businesses across banking, high tech and advanced manufacturing, she brought that experience home to Australia to build a different kind of diagnostic laboratory.

Guided by a vision for a local, compassionate and clinically governed service, Ming has brought together leading clinicians, scientists and specialists who anchor echiDNA’s medical integrity and scientific depth. Her role is to set direction, build the platform and enable experts to do their best work, translating advanced science into care that is practical, equitable and reliable.

For Ming, echiDNA is where precise science meets human-centred values: a commitment to delivering high-quality diagnostics that support better decisions, earlier answers and improved outcomes for the communities who need them most.

  • Dr Peter Kaub is a founding partner of echiDNA, responsible for clinical governance and medical oversight of all human genetic testing. As a senior Consultant Genetic Pathologist (FRCPA) he is dedicated to ensuring the highest quality, ethical and confidentiality standards are embedded into the ethos of all at echiDNA.

Dr Kaub is also committed to ensuring excellence in professional and training standards for genetic diagnostics throughout Australasia, via honorary roles as Deputy Chair of the Genetics Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA), plus committee roles in the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) and Australasian Society of Diagnostic Genomics (ASDG). He brings to echiDNA extensive experience in regulatory approval and clinical service provision of genetic tests across Australia.

With many years experience as a Molecular Biologist prior to medical training, his deep knowledge of the technologies that underpin genetic testing informs his approach to how they are best used in clinical settings to enhance individual patient outcomes. With a proven track record in getting first-in-class genetic tests into clinical service, his passion for harnessing new tests and technologies, that are quickly, safely and widely available to patients, drives the types of tests echiDNA provide.

  • Ben Lundie is a co-founder of echiDNA and Director of Human Genomics. He leads the company’s molecular genomic diagnostics capability, supporting the delivery of high-quality, clinically governed testing across reproductive and rare disease genomics. He brings deep expertise in cytogenetics, non-invasive prenatal testing, genetic counselling and molecular genetics to ensure echiDNA’s services are analytically robust, clinically relevant and aligned with best-practice standards.

With extensive experience implementing advanced genomic technologies, including microarray, NIPT, whole exome sequencing and whole genome sequencing, Ben works closely with the laboratory, clinical, and informatics teams to translate complex genomic data into reliable diagnostic outputs that improve clinical decision-making.

At echiDNA, Ben has played a central role in establishing and scaling the company’s diagnostic genomics platforms, strengthening its capacity to deliver innovative, high-quality genomic testing that meets the needs of clinicians, patients and health systems. His approach emphasises clinical utility, quality and sustainability, reinforcing echiDNA’s commitment to delivering trusted genomic solutions.

  • Dr David Foley is a co-founder of echiDNA and Director of Microbial Genomics. He leads the organisation’s capability to translate microbiome and pathogen genomic data into clinically governed diagnostic outputs. His work spans assay strategy, clinical governance and the development of evidence-based reporting frameworks that support consistency, reproducibility, and clinically interpretable results.

Dr Foley is a dual-trained Clinical Microbiologist and Paediatric Infectious Diseases Physician (FRACP, FRCPA) and has completed Molecular Pathology (Microbiology) certification with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. He also holds training, advisory and examiner roles with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the Communicable Diseases Genomics Network, contributing to professional standards and workforce capability across clinical microbiology and genomics.

At echiDNA, Dr Foley has led the development and implementation of absolute abundance metagenomic assays and related genomic tests for clinical use, strengthening the company’s capacity to deliver analytically robust, evidence-based results that support high-quality decision-making for clinicians and researchers.

  • Ashleigh is the Lab Manager at echiDNA, playing a key role in building reliable and scalable laboratory operations as the company advances its clinical delivery.

She brings extensive experience of over 14 years from clinical pathology laboratories, supported by a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Clinical Science. Ashleigh has deep hands-on wet lab expertise, strong operational discipline and proven leadership in high-volume, highly regulated environments, delivering critical outcomes where quality, consistency and compliance are paramount.

At echiDNA, she is instrumental in translating strong foundations into dependable day-to-day clinical operations, strengthening the company’s ability to deliver high-quality, scalable diagnostic services.

Ashleigh brings a proactive, curious, and solutions-focused mindset that reflects echiDNA’s startup spirit and values, supporting the continued growth of its clinical capability and operational excellence.

  • Dr Stanley Pang is a practising bioinformatician within a public pathology laboratory and a university lecturer teaching across microbiology and bioinformatics. He has over 10 years of experience across public diagnostic laboratories and academic environments, bringing together microbiology insight and bioinformatic expertise.
